Disney staff members are walking out to demand from customers additional LGBTQ assistance

A group of Disney staff staged a walkout on Tuesday at destinations across the region, demanding the company do far more to safeguard LGBTQ folks and protesting that CEO Bob Chapek waited too extended to condemn a bill handed by the Florida legislature.

The legislation that sparked the outcry is the Parents Rights in Education and learning bill, which has been dubbed the “Do not Say Homosexual” bill by critics. If signed by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, it would prohibit Florida educators from training sexual orientation or gender identification in kindergarten through 3rd quality.

Disney has been below fire from both sides of the political aisle about its response to the monthly bill. It has also arrive under fire for its operations in China. DeSantis fired back again in a speech the future day, telling a group of supporters, “You have companies, like Disney, that are likely to … criticize parents’ rights, they are likely to criticize the fact that we do not want trangenderism in kindergarten, in first-quality lecture rooms.”

The governor went on to slam Disney for refusing to condemn human legal rights abuses in China, exactly where the entertainment large does significant organization, in advance of adding, “in Florida, our guidelines received to be centered on the finest interest of Florida citizens, not on the musings of woke firms.”
